If you’re like me, you enjoy spoiling your clients on occasion. Christmas is always a great time of the year to do just that!
My clients have shared with me how much they love the gifts I give them, and I know it adds to their loyalty to me and my business. After being in the business for 40 years, I have given out tons of gifts to my clients so I want to share some of my favorite gift ideas with you.
Christmas time is my favorite time to give gifts because it makes your clients feel valued. And if you’re savvy with your gift choices, it will give your clients a reason to return next year.
Each year I start planning my holiday gift-giving in early November so I have enough time to find just the right gifts and beautifully wrap them for my clients. Presentation is equally important to the gift that’s inside.
Gift-Giving Ideas
Here are some ideas that will not only make your clients feel valued, but they will also help boost future income for you and your salon:
Put together some sample sizes of your favorite hair care products with a customized travel size brush or mirror compact. Remember to include a discount coupon for those products for your clients to use toward their next purchase.
Check with your product line as they usually offer incentives for free sample packets. (This was a great budget saver for me when I was starting out.) Include a discount coupon with the gift so your clients will be encouraged to purchase them in the future.
Clients love travel size products! My all-time client favorite continues to be a travel size hairspray combined with a shampoo and conditioner. Wrapped together in a beautiful cellophane bag with a nice ribbon on it makes the perfect gift. And remember to add the discount coupon for their next purchase of hair care products.
Some years, I’ve given gifts that were quick and easy to find. They included items like calendars or fun sticky note pads. Customize them with your logo for branding as an extra touch to remind them of you and your salon.
Where To Find Great Gifts
Some online stores I use to find perfect gifts are:
Also check with your retail product line and see if they will provide some sample products for you to gift to your client.
Whatever you decide to give, stay within your budget and choose gifts that you feel good about giving. You don’t want to overspend but you also don’t want to give something that comes off as cheap or impractical. Small, thoughtful gifts are well received!
Letting your clients know how much they mean to you goes a long way in their loyalty to continue coming back to you time and time again!
A Business Reminder
Keep track of your receipts for the gifts you buy for your clients. They are a business deduction and every write-off helps at tax time!
